Don't just take my word for it...
When John and I first started meeting, I remember telling him the best word to summarize how I had been feeling lately was “frustrated.” I felt frustrated about recurring mental cycles at work that I couldn’t break out of. I felt frustrated by things I wanted to do at home that didn’t seem to be moving forward. I felt like I wasn’t able to control my thoughts. All of this led me to feeling frustrated about being frustrated! And the cycle went on.
I’m not frustrated any more! I certainly haven’t finished my growth journey or arrived, but I believe there has been real change in my life that started with John and I meeting regularly.
One thing that amazed me was how quickly John was able to get to some core things that I needed to work out that I was unaware of. We talked about goals I had, but the real growing came when I started to understand what was keeping me from those goals in the first place. I’ve read lots of self help books about goals and productivity, but there was something different about consistently sitting down with John each week and having him work with me as a coach face to face. There is something much more powerful in the way he led me to process things than I ever got out of just reading a book.
I'm excited about the journey that I’m on and look forward to continued growth!
John asked me questions about my hopes and dreams in our first coaching session. Through those questions, he was able to bring clarity to the obstacles that I had placed on my path that are preventing me from achieving my dreams and using my gifts and talents to their fullest. We worked together on coming up with tangible next steps to get started on how to remove the obstacles and live my life more fully. The accountability and encouragement from John is so helpful as I set goals, next steps and navigate the path ahead.
I have known John for a number of years and his desire and ability to listen, question and explore options for various concerns, struggles or challenges that I have faced has been incredibly beneficial. John understands that being disappointed with or confused about how you have arrived at your current place in life – a marriage that is not living up to expectations, a career that is stagnant, destructive relationships – can be overcome. He brings a different perspective to what I view as a struggle or disappointment and has counseled and helped me work through various options that have helped me address the real issues I am facing. John’s patience, love for people and a deep desire to help others is continuous and unwavering.
